Rob, Paul and Jo Theakston celebrate the launch of the Black Sheep Brewerys 20th anniversary beer

The Black Sheep Brewery has launched its celebratory new beer to commemorate the brewery’s 20th anniversary.

named Progress, the brewery has created the single hopped beer to celebrate Black Sheep’s journey from when it was founded in 1992 by owner, Paul Theakston to the successful business it is today.

Progress has been brewed as Black Sheep’s third seasonal ale. It will be available on cask from participating stockists from September 3 hroughout the Autumn and Winter months until February 2013

Approximately 20 million pints of Black Sheep are pulled each year across thousands of venues throughout the UK.

This year Paul Theakston became chairman allowing his son, Rob Theakston to take over the role of Managing Director. Another of Paul’s sons, Jo Theakston also holds the position at the brewery as Director of Marketing.All pictured above.

Paul Theakston said: “I am extremely proud of everyone who has been involved in the success of the brewery over the past 20 years. I am looking forward to the future and the opportunities which lie ahead. In a constantly changing industry we are equipped to develop and progress the business further.”

Rob Theakston said: “Our new Anniversary beer is a fantastic homage to the story of Black Sheep. It’s amazing to think how far we have come as a business and what better way to mark the occasion than a top quality 20th Anniversary Ale.”
