Calendar Girls: the Hightimers started their production of Calendar Girls in the Coronation Hall yesterday. There are performances this evening, tomorrow and on Saturday, all at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 for adults, concessions at £4 and are available from DH and G Treharne chemists, the Post Office in Boroughbridge, Jean Pendlebury on 01765 608729 or Michelle Hemstock on 01765 607247.

Fundraising Boden Party: the Friends of Roecliffe CE School are holding a fundraising Boden party this evening from 6-9pm at the school. Entry is £3 to include a glass of wine and there is also a raffle.

WI: the Aldborough, Dunsforth and Boroughbridge WI has a coffee morning tomorrow in the Jubilee Room above Boroughbridge Library. The aim is to raise funds for the WI, particularly to pay for the WI sponsoring a hanging basket in the town. Coffee, tea and cakes will be served from 9.15am-1pm and there will be a stall selling jewellery, scarves and handbags by Stella and Dot.

Organ Recital: St Andrew’s Church in Aldborough hosts an organ recital by Keith Dale MA, GBSM, ABSM, DIPABRSM tomorrow at 7.30pm. A varied program of popular, classical and sacred music will be played by this Yorkshire born organist. During the interval he will hold a question and answer session about playing music throughout the world. Tickets are £8, under sixteens free, and are available from the Dairy in Aldborough, 01423 322305 or on the door.

Brunch Break: enjoy bacon butties and tea or coffee at Boroughbridge Methodist Church on Saturday from 10-11.30am, call in whilst you shop. There will also be a bring and buy produce stall, second hand books and Talents Table.

Community Choir Concert: Boroughbridge Methodist Church has a concert next Friday, April 26 from 7-8.30pm by Boroughbridge Community Choir with Kirby Hill School`s Teamstar. The concert is In aid of the Community Hall Fund.

RNLI Coffee Morning: the Boroughbridge and District branch is holding a coffee morning on Saturday, April 27 from 10am-noon in Marton-cum-Grafton village hall. Bacon sandwiches and tea and coffee will be served and there will be a raffle, plant stall, cake stall and bric-a-brac. Enjoy listening to Clarry at the piano during the morning. Everyone is welcome and the proceeds go to saving life at sea.

Boroughbridge Church Lunch: at Boroughbridge Methodist Church next Saturday, April 27. There is a departure from the usual soup and sweet as this time the menu is cottage pie, cake and coffee.

Church Services: Holy Communion at Aldborough at 8.30am and at Dunsforth at 9.30am with a Family Service at St James Church, Boroughbridge at 10am. Boroughbridge Methodist Church has Sunday Worship at 10.30am. There is Holy Communion at Skelton at 9.30am and a Family Service at Kirby Hill at 11am. On Monday there is Holy Communion in Roecliffe Vestry at 11.30am. On Wednesday there are services of Holy Communion at Aldborough at 8.30am and at Boroughbridge at 10.45am.
