Amblers: the group has a four to four and a half mile walk on Wednesday, September 4 at White Horse and Sutton Bank, led by Ruth and Teg. The walk will be flat with no climbing. Woodworking demonstration: the John Boddy Timber Store in Boroughbridge has a free demonstration next Saturday, September 7 with Simon Whitehead on woodturning. Dance Class: the Lynne Unitt School of Dance is starting a new infant ballet and tap class for girls and boys from three and a half years-old. The classes start in September in the Bradley Studio at the Coronation Hall, every Tuesday from 4-4.45pm.

Minskip Multi Use Games Area: the official opening of the Minskip Multi Use Games Area, MUGA, is next Sunday, September 8 from 2-5pm. The Mayor of Boroughbridge, Graham Archer, has kindly agreed to officially open the facility. The afternoon features a five-a-side football tournament for six teams of under 11s. Refreshments of beefburgers, hot dogs and hot and cold drinks will be available and the organisers are looking forward to meeting the future users of the MUGA. Music and Mirth: tickets are on sale for an evening of music and mirth at the Coronation Hall on Saturday, October 5, 7 for 7.30pm. This is a musical rendezvous with affectionate tributes to some of England’s finest variety star by a local but renowned cabaret and pantomime star, Judith Hibbert.
