Yorkshire Countrywomen: the Boroughbridge branch of the Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association is holding a pearl anniversary coffee morning in the Jubilee Room above Boroughbridge Library this morning from 10am –noon. Roman Day: looking ahead to next month, there is a fun day out for all the family planned for Sunday, September 8 from 10am-4pm at the Roman Day at Aldborough Museum. The day includes Roman re-enactors will be giving talk on different aspects of Roman life, guided tours of the site, the Step Inside guide and activity sheet for families, a presentation for children, Roman games, dressing up as a Roman and refreshments including cream teas. Bingo Night: Boroughbridge Community Care’s bingo night is on Saturday, September 21 in the Coronation Hall at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 which includes supper and are now on sale in the community care office on Hall Square in Boroughbridge. There will be six games of bingo and prize money of £700 will be paid out. There is a seating capacity of 140 and already half have gone, so if you want to reserve your tickets please call in now. Table reservations can be made for large parties, tables are usually laid up to take 10 guests. A bar is available.
Church Services: this Sunday there are services of Parish Communion at Aldborough at 8.30am and at Dunsforth at 9.30am with a Family Service on Hall Square at 10.30am. There is Holy Communion at Skelton at 9.30am and a Family Service at Kirby Hill at 11am.
