Boroughbridge Methodist Church: gives a huge thank you to all those people who supported the Christmas Tree Gift Box Appeal in support of the community hall project and helped to raise £2,000. The next fund raising initiative is a talents task. Participants are being given £10 and asked to use their talents to make more money, donating the proceeds to the community hall fund. If anyone has any photographs or memorabilia connected with the history of the Methodist Church in Boroughbridge, a display is being planned for the Community and Circuit Day to be held in the summer. Antiques Society: Boroughbridge and District Antiques Society holds its next meeting on Tuesday at 7.45pm in the Coronation Hall when Susan Rumfitt, a specialist on the Antiques Road Show, gives a brief history of 19th and 20th century jewellery. Hightimers: The Calendar Girls are coming to Boroughbridge. The Hightimers are presenting the Yorkshire based play at the Coronation Hall from Wednesday, April 17 to Saturday, April 20 at 7.30pm. Tickets will be available at the post office and the chemist in Boroughbridge at the beginning of March. Admission for adults is £6 with concessions at £4.
Walking Festival: the first walking festival in the Boroughbridge and Lower Ure Valley is being held from Saturday, March 30 to Saturday, April 6 to celebrate the area gaining Walkers are Welcome status. There will be guided walks on all of the ten award winning Walks through Time and a new longer walk will be introduced as well aa a variety of other activities which visitors and local residents can enjoy.
