A CONCERT held in Aldborough featuring music by Handel has raised £300 towards the Boroughbridge Community Care (Communicare) minibus fund.

The Come and Sing Messiah event was held in March at Aldborough Church and now Jane Barber – chairman of organiser Yore Vision – has presented proceeds from the event to Boroughbridge Community Care chairman Keith Trott.

The money will go towards the cost of providing outings for the elderly in the local area, giving them an opportunity to visit a variety of places and events which are not easily accessible by public transport.

The outings are extremely popular and the minibus also includes facilities to carry disabled passengers and their wheelchairs.

Anyone wanting more information or who would like to book a place, or who is interested in helping Communicare as a volunteer, should contact David Allon on 01423 324504
