BEDALE’S Bridge Galley are pleased to announce thart they have been awarded the highest possible rating by the Food Standards Agency – a prestigious five stars!
The art gallery, which was visited by the agency earlier in the summer, received the rating for their tea room facility, meaning that inspectors have judged that the venue has the top possible standard of food handling, storage and preparation.
The tea room facility was the newest addition to the venue, which was opened formally in April by local businesswomen and gallery owner Michelle Sands.
Mrs Sands said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have received the five star rating from the health inspector and we think it reflects all the hard work our staff have done to make the gallery such a success since it opened earlier in the year.
“The tearoom is really just the latest string to our bow, and allows visitors the chance to sit and enjoy the beautiful local scenery, whilst mulling over their favourite local artwork.
“We’re planning to continue to invest in the gallery’s future and are currently open seven days a week to welcome new and old visitors who come and browse the gallery.”
Since opening, The Bridge Gallery, which is located on the bridge of Bedale Beck, has become a firm favourite of local residents and visitors alike, selling pieces by a range of artists including UK bestsellers Roz Bell, Jenny Bardell and Nigel Cooke.
Displaying original pieces of artwork, sculpture and jewellery, the Bridge Gallery’s mission is to provide a platform for local artists and artlovers alike to display and buy original artwork, for a range of budgets.
It also holds regular events, open days and competitions, such as the recent ‘emerging artist’ competition, which awarded one lucky aspiring artist a free three month hanging space.
