Pateley Bridge is aiming for gold as our Great British High Street award winning town returns to compete in the prestigious Yorkshire in Bloom competition.

Schools, businesses and volunteers are working tirelessly to give Pateley the best possible chance to add to its expanding trophy cabinet when the judges arrive in July.

The return to Yorkshire in Bloom action comes on the back of a successful year for the town still basking in both the High Street award and the triumphant part it played in the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire.

Standing against Dunnington, Hunmanby and Malton in the Small Town category, Pateley will be judged on July 10.

And the community is pulling out all the stops to ensure the town will look its best.

Nidderdale Chamber of Trade Chairman Keith Tordoff told the ‘Herald: “Everybody is working together.

“We ran a competition with St Cuthberts C of E Primary School to design a logo for the portfolio, and planters are being made for the High

Street.

“Pateley Bridge is looking terrific, and we are aiming for gold!”
