Rob and Christine Burn (pictured) were among ten Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers attending a Mo Farah Foundation gala charity dinner in London.

In addition to the 5,000 and 10,000 metres Olympic gold medalist, other sporting celebrities attending the event were Sir Steve Redgrave, Christine Ohurugu, Sally Gunnel and Usain Bolt.

In other club news, three Harriers were taking part in the Paras 10 event at Catterick on a very warm day for running.

The race’s origins lie in Aldershot but the event was resurrected at Catterick a few years ago.

Nik Sutton Haigh and Yvonne Wood completed the tough race, with its usual Army-type obstacles, together in a time of 2h00m30s, 307th out of 371 entrants.

Les Sutton-Haigh was in the B Company section carrying a back pack, one of the 792 finishers. Les – who was celebrting his 50th birthday – came a very creditable 260th in 1h55m47s.
