THE local debut by Tribe, the Harrogate metal band backed by Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson, IS taking place at Fusion in Knaresborough shortly, though it seems the club on the Market Place isn't called Fusion any longer but The Stonehouse.
And there's been a new addition to the bill in the shape of support act Drowned in Flames from Harrogate, an excellent young metal band, which Gig Scene, in it shame, has failed to review recently (the CD wouldn't work and we couldn't use the downloads!)
Hailed by German metal fans (and they should know!) as a new direction in heavy metal with big hooks, powerful vocals and an imaginative, mini-operatic structure at times, headliners Tribe consist of lead singer Pau Kettley, Gaz McKenzie (bass), Nick Dunne (guitar, keyboards) and Adam Goldsmith (drums).
Tribe will be promoting their debut album Pray for Calm. . .Need the Chaos in Knaresborough on Saturday, November 28.
It seems the venue is now back in the hands of the team that ran it when it hosted successful gigs by big name acts such as Michael Schenker, Wishbone Ash, Napalm Death and more.
Gig Scene has been told it will be opening as a club Friday and Saturdays with free entry until 4am and will be putting on some form of live entertainment every Saturday.
The next live acts are Tribute to Chubby Brown on Saturday, November 21 and Tribe on Saturday, November 28.
In the summer, Tribe played some of Europe's premier Rock festivals, including among others the Wacken Rocks festivals in Germany and Bloodstock, the biggest independent rock/metal festival in the UK.
Metal Glory in Germany were so impressed they said: "Tribe reminds us that rock music can be reinvented."
You can check out Tribe and their music by visiting www.tribe.uk.net or the bands official myspace www.myspace.com/tribeband
Advance tickets for the Tribe show, priced £6, are available from Music House, Cheltenham Parade, Harrogate,or Pear, High Street Knaresborough.
Pray for Calm ..Need the chaos is available on the band's website, through Amazon, via ITunes or at HMV Harrogate.
