HARROGATE nightclub The Viper Rooms is to present "legendary stars live on stage" - and, for once in these sort of things, they've got a point, writes Graham Chalmers.
The club is launching a summer schedule live and in person appearances under the banner of 'Friday Live'.
First up on July 31 - and this is pretty impressive - is celebrated US soul singer Alexander O'Neal in his first performance in Yorkshire for many years.
Next up, on August, 7 is the too-sexy-for-their-shirt Right Said Fred, followed by Scouse soulsters The Real Thing on August 14, whose hits in the 1970s included You To Me Are Everything, Can You Feel The Force? and Can't Get By Without You.
On August, 21, American soul band The Drifters, who scored chart hits for three straight decades will be performing their biggies including Saturday Night At The Movies, Save The Last Dance For Me, Under The Boardwalk and many more of their chart-topping successes.
Viper Rooms owner, Paul Kinsey, says "These days, when tribute acts are ten a penny, it's wonderful to be able to present the original artistes performing their hits live on stage.
"It is a major coup to be able to attract these acts to Harrogate to perform in such an intimate venue. This is a real chance to see world-class talent up close and personal at a very reasonable cost".
Admission to Friday Live is just £5.00. All acts will be on stage before 11.30pm, so early arrival is recommended.
