REVIEW: Focus on HEARTS Festival in Harrogate

HEARTS presents H Bomb Rocks Fashion, Royal Hall, Harrogate.

THE final HEARTS Festival-organised event H BOMB ROCKS FASHION! saw a combination of catwalk glamour witrh the help of Harrogate College, great rock music courtesy of local acts and some top DJ-ing.

The show was opened by incredible street dance group 'Urban Funk' who train at the Chatsworth Dance Studios, Harrogate.

Live acts included DJ Rory Hoy, Crossed Wires, Dead English Poets, Book of Job and the brilliant legend Rob Reynolds who stepped in when IVYRISE pulled out due to overstretching their hectic schedule.

But fashion was the real star.

Annabel Smith Ba hons Fashion degree tutor said: "It is always important to give fashion students a platform to showcase their creativity and skill as designers and this fashion and music combo was ideal.

HEARTS presents The Best of British + H Bomb Blows The Amps, Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate.

THE Best of British, Singalong Musicals Show at the Yorkshire Event Centre was performed by the talented Lynton Academy Dancers and was enjoyed by a considerable audience of young and old.

Following this, the H BOMB BLOWS THE AMPS! Open air live music festival was also a tremendous success with several H Bomb bands such as the brilliant Soundstorm and Caesar Stars playing alongside teenage AMPS bands from St Aidans (Fine and Dandy/Dukes of Bevington) and St John Fishers (Brixton Rowers) who really held their own.

The organisers received terrific, encouraging feedback and suggestions with a promise by many to spread the word about all the good work that HEARTS is trying to achieve; working with young people to help build self esteem and confidence and with the Royal Hall Restoration Trust to raise the final 50,000 for the final big projects.
