ANIMAL scupltures by an internationally renowned artist from Yorkshire will be on show when one of the region’s most famous gardens opens again later this month.

The award winning 20 acre Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park at Grewelthorpe will feature 75 works of art when they re-open on Saturday, April 28.

The gardens, which attract about 10,000 visitors annually, claim to have the North’s largest collection of rhododendrons, azaleas adn magnolias.

“Last summer and autumn was a very busy time for us both choosing exciting new sculptures to enhance the site and doing lots of replanting.

“We continue to expand our collection which now includes some of the rarest Himalayan plants to be found anywhere in the UK,” said Mr Roberts.

The gardens are open every day bar Mondays, except on Bank Holidays, from Saturday, April 28 until Sunday, June 17 from 10am to 4pm.

The gardens also have a nursery selling different varieties of rhododendron.

Admission is £6 with children under 12 visiting free.
