An Olympic event with a difference was held in Ripon.

An Olympic Tea Dance took place at Ripon Leisure Centre with three different Tea Dances from the district joining together to celebrate a special year.

The big Tea Dance was organised by Harrogate Borough Council, with the Olympic Quickstep top of the agenda.

Over 70 people from three different Tea Dances in the district donned red white and blue to compare moves, share experiences and have a fun afternoon of dance.

Led by the dance teachers of the Ripon Tea Dance they enjoyed the Cha Cha Cha, slow Waltz Tango and the Saunter Shiraz.

The three Tea Dances involved were the Trinity Dance Club from Knaresborough, Jennyfields Styan Afternoon of Dance and Ripon Leisure Centre Tea Dance.
