Northallerton’s first ever ‘zumbathon’ will be held next month – to raise money for cancer research.
Hambleton Leisure Centre will host the three hour long event on September 30.
And anyone taking part can get into training at one of the centre’s weekly zumba classes – every Thursday at 12.25pm and 5.30pm.
“Zumba is a Latin-style dance fitness class that’s easy to learn and great for keeping fit,” said Leisure attendant and event organiser, Judy Henson. “If you throw yourself into it you can burn 800 calories in one class!
“We are very excited about the zumbathon and hope to raise lots of money for Cancer Research.”
Tickets to the event from 1pm to 4pm cost £10 - with all proceeds to Cancer Research.
They are available from the leisure centre or from a class teacher.
