Traffic Calming - The Parish Council really have been working diligently to make this a reality before too long and at the PC meeting last Monday, Councillors Clarke and Brennan were delighted to give more details of the scheme.
All villagers are to be leafleted with an invitation to come along to meet them at the village hall and see exactly what the plans say so do keep a close eye on your letterbox as the meeting will be full of useful information.

Village Tidy Up Day
- This is a very early notice for an event which we hope will become an annual one. For many years, there has been a 'Spring Clean' at Church and this year it has been scheduled for Saturday, March 6.

It has been suggested to me that we villagers adopt the day for us all to care for our lovely villages and each area needing attention could then be done together. Traditionally refreshments have been served in church at around 11am and if you have an area near your home ie footpath, verge, rubbish strewn corner etc please let me know and I will co-ordinate everyone and make sure there will be plenty of refreshments.

It doesn’t need to take a lot of time if there are many of us so please do get in touch as soon as you can and let's make our villages spick and span for the springtime.....and the rest of the year.

Scotton Mothers Union - The group meets for the first time this year for their AGM at Scotton Village Hall on Monday, February 8 at 1.45pm. There is much to discuss including help and prayers for the devastated island of Haiti.

There will be details of the new programme for this year and election of officers to continue to keep this valuable group going. All are most welcome to come along if only to see what goes on! Telephone Caroline if you need any further details on 01423 866001.

Scotton, Lingerfield and Farnham Sunday Club - The Club meets on Sunday, February 7 at 9.30am in the Chapel Hall.

This term, the young people will be continuing to explore what is known of life in the time of Jesus and how that helps to understand what we read in the Bible. Lots of different resources are used to gain information, then the children will make a display to go on the wall. Go along and see one, they are truly amazing! New members are welcome any time. Please ring Kate on 01423 522526 for more details.

Services - The Services for Sunday, February 7 will be a Eucharist at St Thomas's at 9.30am and Scotton Methodist Chapel welcome Worship Leader Mrs P Murray with Preacher Mr P Lacey at 10am. All will be made very welcome to either service.
