Ripon library is hosting an event as part of World Book Night.

Now in its second year, World Book Night will take place on Monday, April 23, UNESCO’s International Day of the Book and Shakespeare’s birthday.

World Book Night will see one million free books given away by passionate readers to members of the public.

On Monday, April 23 Ripon Library and Customer Services Centre will have extended opening times until 9pm and from 6.30pm the focus will be on books. World Book Night donors are invited to come in and share their stories over a cup of tea.

The event is organised in partnership with North Yorkshire Police.

Ripon library’s participation in World Book Night is organised by The Reading Agency.
