A NEW climbing frame has been opened in the play area on Copt Hewick’s village green.

With money available to spend on the play area, children in the village had a meeting to choose what equipment they wanted to replace the old seesaw.

The children chose a climbing frame, partially paid for with a grant from Harrogate Borough Council’s Parks Department.

The climbing frame was officially opened on Saturday, April 21, by ten-year-old Rhys Langshaw whose family has lived in the village for three generations. He gave a speech to the gathered children and parents before cutting the ribbon at which the children all rushed to play on the new equipment.
