Faster broadband for Ripon
Homes in Ripon and Bedale are among 39,000 in North Yorkshire who now have access to faster broadband.
BT has upgraded download speeds with “next generation” broadband delivered over copper lines.
The investment makes available download speeds of up to 20 megabits per second (Mbps) – more than double the speed previously available from BT.
Haxby, Stamford Bridge, Pickering, Filey, Ripon, Tadcaster and Bedale are the latest communities in the county to benefit from the roll-out of the service.
The new service is available on an open, wholesale basis to all companies providing broadband, once an area has been upgraded for next generation broadband.
