Baby joy for Ripon Mayor and MP

The Mayor and Mayoress of Ripon are “over the moon” after the arrival of their baby girl in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

Mayoress Pascar Moyo gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Lilly-May, weighing 6lb 8oz at 3.02am.

The Mayor, Coun Andrew Williams, broke the news on Twitter, saying: “Over the moon to announce the arrival of a gorgeous healthy baby girl.”

It comes in the same week that Ripon MP Julian Smith also celebrated the arrival of a little bundle of joy.

His wife, Amanda, gave birth to a baby girl, Poppy, weighing 7lb 6oz, on Monday, January 21.

Mr Smith said: “She has a very proud mum and dad.”
