HARROGATE Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing works from the 18th and 20th centuries in their next concert on Saturday, July 12.
The orchestra will be joined by cellist Andrew Crick, winner of the Concerto class at this year’s Harrogate Competitive Festival.

Andrew will be performing Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C. A student at St Aidan’s School, Andrew, 18, is principal celli
st with Harrogate Philharmonic Orchestra and also plays with St Cecilia Orchestra and Knaresborough Pro Musica.

He currently studies cello with Christopher Hoyle (BBC Philharmonic) at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester where he has had a master class with Natalie Clein. A regular member of the European Vacation Chamber Orchestra, he will tour Italy with them later this summer.

The programme also includes Bartok’s Romanian Dances and Mozart’s Symphony No. 35 (Haffner).

The concert is at Ashville College, Harrogate (7.30pm). Tickets £10, £8 for concessions, £5 for full-time students and under 16s free available from Pomp and Circumstance, Harrogate or on the door.

l The Orchestra has recently welcomed new members to its ranks, but is always looking for more players – particularly to enhance its string section. Interested musicians can find out more by logging on to www.harrogatephilharmonicorchestra.org.uk or at the concert night.
