VISITORS to RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Harrogate between July 12 and 19 will be serenaded by a variety of musical events to suit all tastes and ages.
Music Week includes something for everyone the first event on July 12 and 13 featuring locally-based jazz trio, Swing Time Jazz, whose smooth, easy listening sound combines saxophone, guitar and piano.

Every day throughout the week features differ
ent music including classical string trio, Jasmin Music, talented pianist Helen Leach, who has previously performed on Sunday mornings in Bettys Tea Shop, and the Kingham and Robinson Duo – a pair of improvisational jazz musicians from Leeds College of Music.

A not-to-be-missed highlight of the week is the chance to bring along a picnic and enjoy an outdoor performance of the light-hearted romantic opera, Don Pasquale, which is performed in English on the evening of Tuesday, July 15. It promises to be a special event, combining a story of jealousy, love and avarice with the magical setting of RHS Garden Harlow Carr on a summer’s evening.

Families will also be keen to visit on Saturday, July 19 when Children’s Music Day takes place in conjunction with Harrogate International Festival.

In a range of ‘hands-on’ sessions, young visitors can try out African and Samba Drumming, as well as a Junk Music workshop (making instruments out of recycled materials) and even learning how to play the didgeridoo!

Tickets for Don Pasquale can be purchased by calling 0845 612 1253, quoting event code 5313. All other activities are run on a first come first served basis and are free (normal garden entry fees apply).
